DESCRIPTION
This course will explore the opportunities, dynamics, and challenges of doing business in Argentina while also considering the broader regional context of Latin America. Despite the volatility of these emerging markets, they have still managed to become a favored destination of foreign investors. This has been especially true in the erratic business history of Argentina due to factors such as regulatory burdens, labor costs, and high inflation.
The focus of this course is cultural immersion and education of business practices in Latin America. Students will gain practical experience by developing their own business model and action plan set to take place in contemporary Argentina. To do this, students will turn to the historical evolution of the broader political economy of Latin American and Argentina to understand the roots of its business settings.
