WHAT'S ONE STORY OR IMPORTANT ASPECT YOU ALWAYS TELL PEOPLE ABOUT YOUR TIME ABROAD?
The most important aspect that I always tell people about regarding my time abroad is the amount of confidence that it gave me. During my time abroad I realized that I was capable of navigating overwhelming and potentially high pressure situations. I also grew in my personal confidence as I was able to see myself in a completely new and different environment that anything I had ever experienced before.
HOW DID YOU ENGAGE WITH THE LOCAL COMMUNITY WHILE ABROAD?
Living with a host family, I lucky enough to have a host brother around my same age. This allowed me to ask him questions about what day-to-day life looked like, what restaurants to go to, and what beaches were the best. Asking locals for their insight rather than turning to Google allowed me to immerse myself more authentically in the culture.
