WHAT'S ONE STORY OR IMPORTANT ASPECT YOU ALWAYS TELL PEOPLE ABOUT YOUR TIME ABROAD?
When I tell others about my experience abroad, I always highlight my relationship with my host mom. There is nothing comparable to the relationship you will make with your host family while abroad because they truly take you in as one of their own and only want the best experience for you. My host mom was patient, kind, funny, and hardworking, and she really inspired me to be the best version I can be, despite the language barrier! I still communicate with Rosi today, and I hope this relationship lasts a long time!
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE CLASS WHILE ABROAD, AND WHY?
My favorite class while abroad was Advanced Spanish Composition and Conversation because it really challenged my Spanish fluency in conversations, reading, listening, and writing. I engaged with the Spanish language in the form of short stories, podcasts, songs, and poems, which expanded my Spanish context. I also enjoyed the challenge of speaking to my classmates and professor only in Spanish because it prepared me for speaking with the locals.
